Cubley Hall Barn was packed to capacity last night for the EP launch of the new Crazy Heart EP Auto Twang. The evening got off to a wonderful start with Sam Aukland and Tommy Fuller. The opening piece, played by Tommy on bass guitar was a J.S. Bach Fantasia, followed by reggae numbers from the duo. Up next was Lana and the Lion, who seem to increase in numbers every time we see them! Their infectious, rootsy-acoustic music, played on a mixture of strings and brass plus keyboards, further added to the good-time feeling of the evening.
By the time Crazy Heart appeared on stage, the audience were in a lively mood, and the first wave of EPs had already been sold. The fifty minute set of Geordie Cowboy Americana, flavoured with a heavy dash of Yorkshire relish was lapped up by the audience, who wouldn’t let the band go without four encores!
